Arrival

Park & Ride – if you arrive by car

In the whole city center and most of the suburban districts the maximum parking time allowed is 2 hours. You are not allowed to prolong your ticket after that. The controls are strict.

We highly recommend making use of the Park & Ride System. It is very affordable.

Coming from the west, e.g. from Germany via „Westautobahn“, exit „Wien West“ and park your car at the „Park & Ride Hütteldorf“. It costs about 4 – 8€ /day, depending on the season of the year.

Coming from the south, e.g. from Italy via „Südautobahn“ A2, exit „Wien South“ and park your car at the „Park & Ride Erdberg“. It costs about 4 – 8€ /day, depending on the season of the year.

Public Transport – highly recommended

We will go to the place of our Welcome Dinner on Friday night as well as to our guided tours on Sunday via public transport. On Saturday you may go to the city center between the end of the Conference and the Evening Dinner. The city center is beyond walking distance from our conference venue. So besides arrival and departure ways you will need a ticket for at least 4–6 rides on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Otherwise you may of course call taxis or Uber.

48hours or 72hours Tickets
If you arrive at the Airport or Central Train Station: Go to the ticket vending machines and buy a ticket for 48 or 72hours. It includes all subway lines, trams and busses. The vending machine accepts credit cards and debit cards as well as cash. A train takes you right from the airport into the city of Vienna. You make take the non-stop train CAT or Line Nr. S7, which is far cheaper and goes the same way to “Landstraße / Wien Mitte”.

Single One-Way Tickets
They are also available at the vending machines in all the train and subway stations. In case you do not want to buy the 48- or 72-hours pass, you need to buy them.
In some trams you can buy them if you pay cash and in coins:
2,80€ for a single 2-hours ride in one direction. It is not possible to get tickets in busses.
